One prompt · One HTML file · One afternoon

Gran Theft Otto

GTA-style games built entirely by AI models from a single prompt — each one a self-contained HTML file. Pick a game, see what its model could do.

What is this?

After a tongue-in-cheek claim that AI could "generate GTA V in an afternoon", this became an experiment: give several frontier models the same brief — build a GTA-style game in a single HTML file, from one prompt — and compare what comes back. No frameworks, no build steps, no follow-up fixes.

The results range from basic prototypes to a genuinely impressive open-ish-world game with missions, carjackings and police chases. This site is becoming a running benchmark: as new models arrive, new games will appear here. The takeaway so far — turning instructions into code is no longer a moat for software engineers. Knowing what should be built, and recognising when the result is rubbish, still is.
